Actually...I think that now the net is big enough to have just about as many "mentally disturbed" people as there are in the real world. I mean think. How many people do you know without access to the internet. Who says the normal people don't get on here too? Crazy. Normal. We're all here. It's like an alternate world. But it's better.

Actually, I get the feeling that most people have a hangup or three that they want help dealing with (and yes I have some too).
It's just easier doing it here rather than face to face (telling a stranger or stranger(s) on Yahoo is like talking to a bartender, they'll listen, maybe offer some good advice, but don't get too close & personal). Also, you don't have to pay a professional or waste money on alcohol to get some useful hints here.

There is not a soul on earth without mental problems. Mental problems is in the eye of the beholder. None of us are exactly alike.

It's fascinating the things people come up with when they are behind closed doors without fear of retribution. It's scary. Everyone is crazy to some degree, some are just more so than others.
