That People who don't drink can't be trusted. Why is that? Just curious.

My grandma told me that a drunk man speaks a sober man's mind. So if a person doesn't drink they don't relax enought to say what their really feeling and therefor others can't trust who they are.

I think they were being funny but I think it might be because when most people drink the truth tends to come out and things they might not have wanted others to know about. So if someone has done something very bad and wants to keep it secret they may not be as willing to drink and get drunk. That's my take on it don't know if it's right.

The people that do not drink may not or appear not to be as sociable as the ones who drink.
The people who drink do not alway make the effort to get to know the non drinkers and therefore are suspicious of them.
Many people make this type of assumption of others who are different than they are.
Too bad, they often miss some great opportunities to get to expand their fields.

I think that saying came from the fact that many people are brutally honest when drunk. It's alot easier to get someone to let their gaurd down after a few drinks. I however don't think that many people actually believe that a person is not trustworthy if they don't drink.

People think that you are more honest, truthful when you drink~ inhibitions are lowered. i guess they think if you dont drink you may have something to hide, since you would be letting your gaurd down by drinking alcohol

It's a way to "rib" folks. Just a joke.
However there are some guys (boozers) who mean it, they figure anyone who don't drink is hiding something, or they are phonies.
