well it will take awhile, try to hold him if he gets ticked off put him back in and wait awhile befoers trying again. make sure his temp. requirements and food are all correct. its the same with warming up to a cat or a dog, it will take a bit. since he has never been handled and he is 1 years old it may not work at all, did you capture him from the wild? if you did then good luck with that..... hope this helps :P

P.S this is my own opinion so it may not work

At a year old he should be eating larger prey then pinkies. Snakes that are chronically hungry will strike at any movement in their cage or through the glass. Unless you are feeding him several pinkies at a time he may be underfed.
Make sure he is getting at least a hopper size mouse once a week to eliminate that possibility and that alone may improve his temperament.

I had one of them, and the best thing to do would be try to get him (it doesnt hurt when he bites....atleast mine didnt) and just pet it. snakes are a little more difficult to tame than iguanas, or other reptiles people keep as pets...but give it a shot
