I am very interested in changing my major. I just finished two years in Business Administration and am not happy with the direction I am going. I have thought very strongly of starting over and going into i.e. cadd or industrial engineering technology. Just want to know what kind of jobs there are available and if people in this field are happy with their career? I'm looking for more hands-on work and less ****-kissing.

Thanks!

I'm a non-degreed engineering in the offshore industry. I believe Industrial Engineering is very under-rated yet has great potential. Your BA background would enhance your performance in evaluating the economics of processing the final product.

Good Luck

A good place to start doing the research is job sites and pages like www.salary.com. By reading job descriptions and responsibilities, you can better decide what might work for you.

Just by typing in Engineer in www.salary.com you will get a whole page of all kinds of engineering job titles. It will also give you some idea of compensation you could expect by zip code. http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layoutscripts/swzl_matchjob.asp?wizardtype=1&searchtextvalue=engineer&zipcode=32250&hrside=&ftesize=%23+of+employees&x=0&y=0

I think it is a good decision to hold Business Administration degree. The quality of your business degree will be much improved once you have industry experience.

Best wishes.
