Why am I still paying money to social security out of my paycheck when it won't be around to actually pay for me when I retire. You all know it's gone in 20 years right?
The money that's been spent in the War (BILLIONS) could have kept us all more secure!

Social Security isn't a savings account.
You are paying to help people currently in need. Your money is going straight to the seniors.
The hope is that younger people will keep paying it to support you.

The value of a car drops 60% within the first 2 years of ownership. What if the people that finance those cars took the same attitude during the second year, and quit making payments because they still owed 80% of what the original cost was?

It's all good, until it's your turn to pay. And that's what wrong with America today.

Because if we don't pay we will go to prison. My husband and I ask the same thing. We are in our 40's and we are getting scared. What choice do we have? Bush came up with an idea to give us our ss $ and we could choose how to invest it. Someone voted against it. I can't remember who but we are screwed. At my job I don't get a pension, I am not in the union so I figure by the time I am 70 I will have to eat catfood to survive.

I myself have 34 years until i turn 62 years old,

i sometimes wonder the smae myself,

But, WE must take care of those who are relying on social security for more than 80% of their income, Like both of my parents who are over 62 and are getting social security,

We can only hope that congress will come up with a solution, (soon), I wouildn't worry too much, I have a feeling that they will come up with something.

this war is not doing us any good at all, I don't even think there was a good reason for this war. It's just a waste of money and lives.

That is because our country may have a lot of things "together" but most things they try to "help" citizens with, is just bullshit. Moving to Canada sounds like a better plan- they have free healthcare...and many other pluses.
