I am a bit confused, when dumbledore asked snape if he developed any feelings towards harry? ..snape shouted and did a protonus..
and dumbledore was like "always?"...does it mean that snape loved lily or showing dumbledore how much he cared about harry, or both?

Snape loved Lily very much, and, on the outside, hated Harry because he reminded him of James, the one who had teased him, and, married the love of his life. Deep inside him, he cared for Harry because he was Lily's son.

Snape was saying that he loved Lily when he did his Patronus, because Lily's Patronus had been a doe. Dumbledore asked Snape if he still loved Lily and he said, "Always", as in he will always love Lily. Snape said he didn't like Harry, but I think he did. After all, why else would he have cared what Harry thought about him and given him the memory?

Snape produced the patronous to show Dumbledore he was still in love with Lily. When Dumbledore said after all this time Snape replied simply ":Always." Meaning he'd always love Lily. He had little, perhaps no, love for Harry because he reminded him so much of James, who he despised. But he was willing to protect him, keep him alive out of his love for Lily.

Snape cared for Lily. I don't think he would have cared much for Harry since he looked so much like James. I think that Snape felt he should watch over Harry as a debt to Lily, but other than that.... Anyway, his confession in the office was about Lily. He didn't admit any affection for Harry. Before he conjured the Patronus, he said, "For HIM?" so no, it wasn't out of feelings for Harry.

I took it more that Snape was letting Dumbledore know that he wasn't protecting Harry because of Harry. It was all for Lily. That's why he showed Dumbledore his patronus. The patronus showed that even after 17 years, he still loved Lily. I believe that JKR herself has even said that if it wasn't for Harry being Lily's son, Snape wouldn't have cared what happened to him either way.

Snape never liked nor cared about Harry as a person. He only protected Harry so that his mother, Lily, whom he loved, would not have died in vain.

The Patronus symbolizes the person you love. The doe represented Lily, the wife of the stag (male deer), James.

I think it's that he loved Lily and that's why his patronus took that form.
