I am from New York. I am Irish/Itlian, but I favor my Itlian side, so i say some words different from the way these people down south do. Also, just because I am half Itlian does not give people the right to call me a wop. The people in VA also don't like people from NY, why is this?

Lol i would have no problem with the way you talk at all. I've lived in jersey for many years and also lived in Ny and love the strong Ny italian accents. its sexy! People down in georgia also make fun of the way i talk. Hey we can't help it. they need to get over it!

just to let you know not all southerners feel like that. i am from mississippi and i know many people from NY and even a few from italy. no one i know have ever made fun of them. maybe u just need to look at the people your assosciating with. and don't worry so much about what other people think. the ones that do berate u for it are just proving thier own ignorance.

New Yorkers have the reputation for being rude, pushy, and generally unfriendly. I'm from Arizona and have been to New York City. I was treated very well everywhere I went, but the old stereotypes live on.

It's okay I like Italian accents & New york accents(it's hot) I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have no problem here in California...

People in TX and OK don't like Ca's either and people in CA make fun of the accent of TX and OK people, but who cares, it is none of your business what they think of you, it is your business what you know is true about you. To thine own self be true. Treat others as you want to be treated and you will really begin to like yourself.
