I want to go to the Simpsons movie but all my friends are busy tonight or don't want to see it. Would you think it's weird if you saw a 22 year old girl watching a movie by herself in the theatre?

I just went to the movies Friday by myself to see I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry. My husband was in school and I had to find something to do for a few hours. It was the middle of the day and the theater was practically empty. I'm a 24 year old female, and I really enjoyed going alone. I plan to go see Hairspray by myself as well. Go and enjoy!

I do it all the time.. prefer it that way actually.. makes it less likely to have running commentary.. (my friends tend to talk through movies.. it bugs me even if no one but me can hear it)
Now, if it were something like Rocky Horror Picture Show.. or Hedwig and the angry Inch.. where a certain amount of audience participation is involved.. then it just isn't the same when you go alone..

Nope i don't think it's wierd... I actually prefer to go to the movies alone especially if it's something i really want to see, i dont' want anyone bothering me about popcorn or there skittles spilling on the floor I just want to watch in peace :)

Hec NO i would your friends dont have time so why ruin a good night you dont need some one there all the time espacially not if you want to see it i think you should go see it

I am 26 and I go to the movies every Sunday by myself. I find it to be ok.

it might be just a little weird, it would be for me cause i always comment on the movie to the person next to me that i know

No, it's not weird. And, as a plus, you don't have to listen to your friends talking during the movie. :)

The theater will be so full you'll probably be sitting by
other people anyway...
I go to the movies alone sometimes since my husband died...

ya i feel like that too sometimes. i would just go, its a rly awesome movie and a lotta fun even if ur alone. no one would stare at u they would be laughin at the movie!
