Mom always had them around. If you ate more than one they weren't so bad. I remember this bad deed--how, clueless, I can remember going in the bathroom at 3 and crawling up in the sink and getting in the medicine cabinet and eating a whole box of chocolate X-Lax. Boy was that a quickie of a lesson.

I do remember those. They were spelled AYDS. A restaraunt I go to has advertising as decortation and they have that on the wall. It says, Lose weight with AYDS. unreal!

Of course, but in reality, it was nothing but overpriced nasty tasting candy. To this day, the easiest way to lose weight is to eat a small piece of candy just before sitting down to eat...the sugar destroys appitite...regardless of the name of the candy..try it! Eat a small piece of fudge FIRST ..you will find you are not nearly as hungry as you were before you ate the candy...OR, eat a small dessert BEFORE eating...you will be amazed at how the pounds can roll off without even trying. And by the way, the disease destroyed the company! Interesting how words can carry such bad connotations.

My friend's mother had boxes of the many types. The chewy vanilla kind was okay. The chocolate was nasty. Remember the ads in the magazines?

Oh yes Cheryl,
I remember a diet bar called aids
I don't know if they are still around
that was when I was skinny as a skeleton
I would be in store I said look at these
my mom said you certainly don't need this
too you are skinny.

My great aunt had them. She would let me have one, once in a while, but I also had to sneak them when she wasn't around.

They were chocolate... what more can I say?
