Yes we know we have allies in the ME, we just dethrowned a past one a few months ago, even watched him hang via cell phone recording, and we are fighting Reagan's "freedom fighters" now.

Support our allies in the middle east? What are you going on about? We give Israel several billion dollars in annual military support. We also sell advanced weapons, including fighter jets, to the saudi arabs. We sell weapons to Turkey, who are probably our closest allies in the region.
NONE of these countries ever wanted us to invaded Iraq. They all opposed it. Turkey, our closest ally, refused to allow us to station our troops there in preparation for the assault. The saudis did not request we launch our unprovoked attack. What we did, however, has angered not only much of the muslim world, but much of the rest of the world as well. We're pretty much alone in this wanton act of aggression, dear.
Yeah, you cons need a reality check. Please--before you launch another unprovoked war. This new Bush doctrine of preemptive war irks anyone with even half a functioning brain.

Are you kidding?
If you think we have allies in the middle east, you're deluding yourself.
All muslim nations have a negotiating arm and a military arm. The job of the negotiating arm is to say anything that it takes to get what they want. The job of the military arm is to destroy America and Israel and spread Sharia Law through jihad (terrorism).
The negotiating arm does not control the military arm which works independently of constraint, coordinating with Hamas, Hizbollah, PLO, Al Queda or any other organization to advance their islamic agenda.
No Islamic entity can be negotiated with. Their sole negotion is "my way or the highway".
Unfortunately, our people are conducting themselves as they did when negotiating with the Soviet Union. Even though the Ruskies were evil, they still kept their word (when it was in their best interests). But we're now involved with people who define "truth" as something they use when convenient, and lie all the rest of the time.
Let's just hope the learning curve for the public school graduates making the decisions in D.C. is in days, weeks, months or years, not decades.

Sad thing.
Why don't you acknowledge reality? oh yea reality has a liberal bias.
Like we armed Saddam? in the 70's and 80's and then invaded him, Donnie Rumsfeld sold Saddam WMD production means through front companies when he was Special envoy to Mideast, for weapons proliferation under Ron Reagan. it would help your argument if you know a little at least about the history of our policy in the Mid east, and regional history. Look for the famous picture of Rummy embracing our boy Saddam from that trip do you think he was there selling girl scout cookies?

Your argument is flawed. We have allies in S. Korea and Japan who are in constant threat of being nuked by N. Korea. So why didn't we invade N. Korea. Was Iraq a bigger threat!??? Iran is closer to developing a deliverable nuclear weapon than Iraq ever was....Why didn't we invade Iran? .....Could it be cuz Iraq has more oil than the other two countries? Hmmmm....

Do you really think Saudi Arabia would be an ally if they were not oil rich. They are not an ally they are our filling station. Do you think we would give any arab nation the time of day in they were not oil rich. We don't have allies there we have filling stations.

what about them?!!
yes we have allies in the middle east and i understand how important it is for us to maintain a good relationship with the moderate Arab regimes if we have any hope of defeating terrorism. in fact that's the only way we can defeat terrorism by working together to encourage the moderate folks to come forward and report terrorist activities. and NOT by invading countries that had nothing to do with 9/11.
we should fight their ideology not with bombs but with knowledge

The only time Libs like a foreign policy is when it can be absolutely demonstrated that in it's execution it does not enhance our national defense or further our national interests. They will waste great treasure on such endeavors because they want to feel "good" about themselves.

Is it really allies or is it because of money and military industrial interest and because a lot of oil is there. If we geared our fuel needs to bio-fuels and didn't need oil anymore then what would it be like.
