A planner. You need this to keep track of all your assignments, test dates, project due dates, etc. It helps a lot if you actually take the time to keep track of it.
You'll need a scientific calculator if you don't already have one.
Get loads of sticky notes. They're pretty helpful sometimes.
But of course you'll need to purchase the typical notebooks÷rs for all of your classes.
A stapler. Maybe a pencil sharpener. Highlighters. Possibly a protractor for Geometry.
Preferably college ruled paper. White out. Maybe colored pencils. Pens. Make sure to get a red pen, for checking if your teachers have you do peer checking. Erasers. A ruler.

If you buy stuff now, you will have a pile of stuff you don't need, and you will have another list of stuff you do need.
On the first day of school, bring only 4 things. A folder, pen, paper, and of course your backpack. Anymore, and your backpack will be overloaded. You will be getting at least four useless books. Your teachers will say to you "Bring these home and keep them there. You will never use these, but the school district requires that I give them to you anyway." Undoubtedly, you will lose the books by the end of the year and owe the school roughly $200 in book fees. This is the second main source of the school district's income, right behind property taxes.
Class will be hellishly boring the first day. Hence the pen and paper. Doodle. Also, make a list of the supplies your teachers say you need. They will give you a syllabus; put all of those in the folder and burn them when you get home. They are worthless.
Then, as soon as you get home, rush to the store and buy everything on that list. At least one of your teachers will tell you to buy something obscure (eg. a certain brand of safety goggles, a particular version of a french-english dictionary, etc) that only 1 store has in stock, and the one store will only be carrying enough for half the class. The rest of the class will fail that year.

Buy a notebook and pen before school starts incase the teacher gets really serious and makes you write stuff down, but other than that, just wait and see.
