I am a Parent, I have smoked cigarettes, Drunk alcohol and experimented with illegal drugs.
I wouldn't give them to my kids or advise anyone else to do them but I had a grand old time when I used them.
Most drugs will have less of an impact on your life than the most common two that you will come across Cigarettes and Alcohol. More people die because of and get addicted to these to then any of the other drugs combined.
recreational drug use can be a productive, entertaining rite of passage for some and yes a nightmare for others, but typically people who develop mental problems after drug use had it to come whether they used drugs or not.
Excess of anything is bad for you and the majority of people experiment with drugs and enhance their lives by doing so and move on with their lives. Others don't and may become addicts or over dose, that has more to do with the person than the drugs they are using.
to say that you hate drug users is very broad and a little strong. drug abusers and addicts I can say might be a little less of a sweeping statement however as with any addiction it is an illness (which the government continue to deal with in completely the wrong way).
By the way I know many many parents, police officers and customs officers that have taken and still take drugs so whilst publicly they may agree with you the reality is likely to be very different

No I don't. Hate is such a strong word and I use it rarely. The fact of the matter is that these people are just as likely as anyone else to use drugs. Yeah, they are supposed to be role models, but nowadays is there really such a thing?

I hate people who abuse drugs, like my former friend. She smoked cigarettes and pot for god knows how long. Because of this, she is a high-school dropout. Doors close and never open again when you don't have a high-school diploma. When she told me this, I got pissed, and we lost contact. I don't know what she's doing now, but I hope she's getting her GED. Drugs mess with your mental health, especially pot. Marijuana has just been proven to cause psychosis such as schizophrenia. The more frequently you smoke pot, the more chances you have of experiencing psychotic symptoms later in life. Pot and other drugs are very dangerous and just fry your brain. So save your mind and avoid them.

It depends. You didn't specify if the drugs are illegal or not. If a cop wants to take a Goody's headache powder, I wouldn't nail him to a cross or anything.
