My little cousin is gonna be 4 months on the 6th of Aug. What does a baby of that age do already because he rarely does anything. He has Down Syndrome but he is so floppy and just a lil Lazy he's already starting to look a little "slow" and wobbly and weak. his parents are in denial of this syndrome even though he was declared with this syndrome when he was born. I show him love no matter what and i play with him no matter what because i know this baby will need special attention and i accept him no matter what but im trying to help him out because when the nurse came over my aunts house to check out did the baby need any down syndrome services she said no as if he doesn't need any help and he does. He doesn't eat like a normal child. you gotta feed him gently and do extra things a baby can do easily and he is just so delicate and my aunt acts like he doesnt need any help and he does she only making it worse and im worried about him a lot! so please help. What do babies do at 4 months?

Babies with Down syndrome have low muscle tone and that affects their ability to hold their head up, sit up, roll, eat, etc. It's not unusual that the child is not at the same place as a typically developing peer. What is worrying is that his parents aren't getting him the help he needs. A child with Down syndrome can develop very normally, albeit a bit slower than his/her typical peers, but the child needs to get Early Intervention therapies..NOW!! By Federal Law, this child qualifies for therapy which is either free or very low cost. But a child should start with this therapy as soon as possible. Therapy will help with strength, and eating issues among other things. To deprive this child of assistance is cruel.

I'm glad you are concerned for your cousin. Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I would contact your local chapter of the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) and ask for some help in getting your aunt to see how she is hurting this child. If she still refuses to get the child into therapy....I'd call social services. This is neglectful and cruel. This child deserves a chance to reach his optimum potential.

Each baby is different, especially special needs babies, or those who were early.

Usually by four months they can smile, watch you walk across the room, maybe coo a little, and find interest in bright objects. by the 4month mark they are very interested in faces, and being talked to. The biggest milestone is being able to hold their head up. Also, most babies can roll tummy to back, although not all. Some dont reach that point until theyre in their forth month.

Some babies can do much much more by that point, others only those things.

In the fourth month they can sit when propped up, for a short period of time, and reach out to try and grab or swat and object near them.

Your aunt not wanting DS support is just fine. She has decided that he will be a normal child. Theres nothing wrong that with. Its a good thing. It only looks wrong to you because thats your opinion.

sure. it quite is particularly known actually. dissimilar toddlers start up teething at 3-4 months, yet their first enamel won't minimize by way of till plenty later. shop giving the teething pills and toddler Tylenol, on the reccommend dosage and basically supply whilst toddler desires it.

At 4 months they can sometimes roll over and that's about it don't worry he is fine. Just play with and love him as you would any other child.
