Neither of these guys are getting any younger. I think they are both past it. They will be lucky to reach Quarterfinals.

Today Frank Dancevic beat Roddick like a dog. He wasn't intimidated by Roddick or his serve, played his game and just went out and got the job done. I loved the one service game in the first set were Frankie cranked off 3 aces to win the game. After seeing how easy that was for Frank what do you think other guys on tour are thinking.

And as for Blake...what is he doing? He is a much better player than he shows on court. Yeah he got aced left right and center but if you're a pro and watch the servers toss as you should while he's serving you get an idea of where he is probably going with the serve. Move in that direction.

It depends on how confident and motivated Blake and Roddick are. I think at times they give up too easily and let their opponents run all over them. I don't see either of them winning the U.S. Open. They're not physically or mentally prepared to the best. As far as Roddick saying that he was looking forward to meeting Federer back at Wimbledon, that was an obvious mistake. He would've just lost to him again. Who looks forward to losing again? Roddick's coach Jimmy Connors hasn't done a whole lot that I can see. Andy is the same Andy of old......big serve, shaky confidence, and a not much of a game to go with it. With James Blake, I don't think he'll ever win a major. He's not the only guy on the tour who wants to win badly. Until he can mow down the competition and do it consistently, there's no shot at him doing too well.

Roddick and Blake will always in the mix of thing. They will be in the top 10 for at least a few more years but they never is going to be number 1. Blake is too inconsistence and Roddick has no brain.

Home early, if you are talking this year's U.S. Open. Andy Roddick is at least trying to change up his game with Coach Jimmy Connors. Blake appears to just want to blast people off the court with his forehand. That strategy is just not working now.It is very frustrating to watch Blake play in all honesty. A one slammer and a no slammer, when it is all said and done, I am sorry to say.

The way they both play and comparing them to others, I say
they have no chance of winning any grand slams nor becoming
no. 1.....
Roddick even though is #4 or #5, he has lost his potential and
has not improved other than going at the net....Only his serve
can keep him alive for a while(a year or 2)...
Blake looses to some unknown player and some how he
has never been a rhythm.

This year both can go to 3rd or QF at the most, with Roddick
if playing better can go to SF. No way he can be in Finals.

i think the only place for them to go is down.

roddick is a gimmick player who lives and dies (mostly dies) on the speed of his first serve. if the serve is off, he's in big trouble because he doesn't return well enough to have a shot at breaking his opponent (you think jimmy would've done something 'bout that by now!) and he doesn't have anything else in his game that he can fall back on. if his opponent gets the timing of roddick's serve down, he's in trouble because roddick likes to throw heat to the same spot over and over again. he's been trying to come in behind his serve, but if his opponent gets their return of serve into a rhythm, all he is doing is giving his opponent is a target.

and then there's james blake. if there was ever a posterboy for losing to ppl you should never lose to, its james blake. i've tried to figure out what he's doing and for the life of me i don't have a clue. he seems to have all the talent but doesn't have the mental toughness to fight through the tight spots. it seems like blake's matches hinge on one shot or point here or there. if it goes his way, he wins. if it doesn't (and it usually doesn't) he loses. it doesn't seem like he can forget those things that don't go his way and focus on winning the next point. he can't grind out matches. either way, his matches are blowouts.

i tend to think that tennis players (especially the pros) are very sharp ppl and once they figure out you have a limited game, its like blood in the water; so i think their better results are behind them unless they stop playing tennis with their heads up their ....

if roddick gets it together, i think he can make it to the final in the us open, if he doesnt face federer before the final

roddick was pretty hurt during his match today, he was also exhausted, they made him play at 11:30 at night the day before, so he didnt get a lot of rest, he was pretty sluggish today, he just gave up on points because he was so exhausted. and he has been in the bathroom like two times because of some bad food that he ate

as for blake, i think he can make it to the quarters or semis

THE REAL QUESTION HERE IS "WHAT ARE THESE 2 FRIGGIN BUMS DOING IN THE TOP 10"? Everyone can see they are just doormats for other players.. They should both quit today preferably in the morning that way the whole day isn't ruined///
