Sure! You can buy one to insert into your system tower or buy a standalone one that would plug into your USB port.
http://www.newegg.com is a good place to research and buy

yep they sell ones that goes into the tower or they have ones that hook up threw usb's which is nice but cost's a little more but makes it possible to have 3 cd-rom drivers so you can have a normal cd-rom a cd-rw and dvd
www.tigerdirect.com sells them fairly cheap also www.newegg.com also sells them but then you can pick uo one at any computer store heck even walmart but if you never messed with the insides of a pc its simple but you can still mess up things so if you never been inside a pc get the ones that hook up threw usb's trust me save you a pain in the neck and most come with a cd-rom that has a decorder which makes it possible to watch dvd's well good luck

Yes of course just go to your nearest electronics store and look for someone to help you out and ask tell them that you need a eternal dvd rom drive and they will find you one that fit your price range or budget. Hope this helps :)

Yes, you are. If you don't have a free slot in your computer, you can always get an external one.
I recommend getting a DVD burner if you're making the investment anyway. There isn't a really big difference in price between them, and you'll get more out of it in the long run.
Good luck!

you can usually get one at the local swap meet for five to ten bucks. almost any one will work if its a standard ide type or usb stand alone. make sure the rear jumper settings are cs or master slave or have the local swap guy do it for you. media player eleven will play standard dvds downloadable free and powerdvd plays the hacks or copies.
