Busted USB laptop ports - I don't have 9-pin serial port either??

Question

Both my USB slots on my HP Pavilion laptop are busted.. the company's estimate to fix it is $300

I see bus card adapter but the ones I can find you also have to plug to USB..(wtf?)
It has a serial port but it's not a 9-pin port it's 15 pin.. but 3 rows of 5 pins .. all the adapters I see are 9-pin

Any suggestions?

get a usb pcmcia Card, like this one

or u can get ur laptop fixed and take better care of it
