They should regardless of the ending, they were not the ones that wanted to cut and run, Our brainless politicians were.

The American people have welcomed and will continue to welcome them home with open arms. Where I live we just saw that the other day.
The Republicans in Congress and the Administration on the other hand just want nothing more than to turn their backs on the the troops and pretend they don't exist. While that's true of those who were hurt physically, it's especially true of those who were hurt mentally - because Republicans tend to treat such people worse than dirt.
Whether it's forcing wounded and hospitalized veterans to live in a rat's nest (aka Walter Reed), or soliders getting billed for equipment that was damaged in Iraq by the enemy. The administration is probably laughing themselves sick over how the troops got another middle finger from their cronies.

The only one I know that received a ticker tape parade was General MacArthur. That was before we were born.
Troops don't need or want frivolous parades. They only want your respect and gratitude. Spread the word to your liberal friends.

there's a large gathering every time a group of soldiers come here to fort Sill from Iraq or Afghanistan, families are here, large band, local dignitaries congressman and senators, Its a very nice homecoming, and its done for every group of soldiers, regardless of how small, or large.
PS. Chi guy, that happens in every war, and I mean every single war. And some of them are riding that train cause it leads to gravy too.

Considering how the wounded are being neglected when they return, probably not. Soldiers are returning home all of the time with mental scars that are never addressed.
