What stage are you in? If you have no experience, then I highly recommend you find the local community theater (every area has one!) where you can get phenomenal training for absolutely free and have a blast while doing it. If you HAVE experience, then perhaps it's time to find an agent...just Google the name of your closest BIG town and follow it with the word AGENT...I guarantee you'll get many hits...they're all going to want to see head shots, so you might want to get that done (not Sears...something that shows your personality, and different looks) and keep in mind that ANY agent who asks for ANY money up front is fake...RUN AWAY ( no matter how they flatter you!). A real agent works on commission--they get paid when you do. Good luck!!

If you are still in highschool, then start with a drama class. You
can learn about acting that way first with the basic principals.
Learning stage direction, memorizing lines and learn how to
use expression and gestures, voice inflection, etc.
Out of school then join local little theatre groups to learn and
get more experience. Then go to the theatre guild and see
what you can do there. Or if they have a Civic Theatre for
local professionals, and you have enough stage presence
they will maybe hire you for a role coming up. You also can
do Childrens Theatre. Helping to put on plays that they may
have thru the local zoo or science programs. That may be
the easiest way to get experience, without having much
theatre credits other than highschool.
In HS if you really do well and excel, you could be approached by a scout from the Pasadena Playhouse, where
many kids found out if they had what it takes to make a
career out of acting. Often they offer a scholarship to their
school to a drama student who shows promise.
Get as much experience as you can. Audition for anything
that has a good premise to the show. Keep a list of your
experience so that you have a folder to show someone who
is into good play production. Later have a photo shoot for
a file you can offer pix of yourself from, and get an agent to
represent you. It's a set of steps you must fulfill to build your
career. These days, there's an overload of competition and
you have to work hard and pay your dues before you could
try Hollywood or New York City. It's more now, in who you
know, than who you can be on stage. The talent is out there
and so much so, that most actors have to rely on their
jobs to make a living. And have cooperative bosses who will
let them take off time to audition for a big role.
But for now, just do it as a hobby and not worry about making a living at it. You'll avoid more rejection that way.
