No, Shakespeare didn't write any books, he always penned his plays, sonnets, and poems. some of the plays were published during his lifetime, and also his long narrative poems, such as Venus and Adonis, were published also during his life. But he didn't write books at all. And by the way, he never wrote about his son!!!

Shakespeare wrote all of his plays, in the sense that he penned them with ink on paper. The so-called first folio of 1621 was the first book of his plays printed, after he died.

Books, as in fiction or biography type books as we know them today? No...he penned plays, and sonnets. Some were made into folio, and even some quatros.....thats sort of a collection of them all together under one cover. But books? No...he didn't.
