No. Only ignorant and low class people think this racial slur is acceptable. No matter what race a person is that speaks it, using it is wrong. Its negative connotation cannot be erased by frequent use by anyone. That it was the battle cry for subjugating, disenfranchising, discriminating against, raping and lynching African Americans for a couple of centuries is reason enough that any intelligent person would shun its use.

quite, if there's a double common, i think of that it is not even on the fringe of the double standards that many different minorities have confronted time and time back. I quite have considered some whites say that the existance of the NAACP, guess, HBCU, and affirmative action is a double common. yet, i've got self belief which you won't be able to whinge of a double common in case you have not tried to have similiar issues for your self. while you're merely sitting back and complaining then you definitely've made no strides, and you're basically a whiner. the marvelous element is that, I see women folk at right here whinge approximately how unfair affirmative action is. Affirmative action does merely as plenty to income women folk as minorities. Affirmative action became put in place to "be sure" equivalent probability. White u.s. did create the double common. They pushed for seperate yet equivalent. the only subject with that, became it became never equivalent. one greater element, i think of the reason that some whinge of a double common is via the fact they can't do all they want to do. I see human beings whining that they can't use the "n" be conscious and different black human beings use it. I refrain from making use of that be conscious, yet uncomplicated experience might tell them that it is inappropiate. I quite have heard somebody call thier husband a stupid a**hollow. yet, I quite have the experience to be conscious of that i won't go around calling human beings's husbands that call. If I see some thing it is arbitrary, I upward thrust up against it. in case you notice some thing it is arbitrary on your eyes and you merely whine approximately it, you won't be able to whinge whilst it maintains.

Yeah, it is. But don't generalize, not all blacks use it, some blacks, like myself, don't like it and don't use it. It represents many negative things and although blacks use it a lil' differently, it's disrespectful to one's self because they probably don't have a full understanding, otherwise they wouldn't readily use it, regardless of how it is said. Any other race using it doesn't make more sense than blacks using it though. Bottom line, NO ONE should be sayin' it.

i actually agree with you on the whole N word i always thought anybody who used it as a slang sounded corny.. my fathers black and full blooded cherokee indian and my mothers puertorican.. but the stoppage of one word that started off being a form of degradation by one race and then powerfully changed into a synonym by its own race is not gonna stop racism on any large scale..
black people have changed the word from its negative meaning into nothing other than just like someone referring to someone else as man or dude.. like "hey man" or "dude "or "nah man" "nah dude".. but if a white person tries to use it its original degrading meaning comes to mind.. if you step outside of yourself as a white person and put yourself in the shoes of a black person it would make sense to you.. if it comes out of a white persons mouth when the original meaning always meant slave or someone lesser than me ..its negative.. but if it comes out of another black persons mouth its harmless and almost a form of endearment when used "sup my n!gga".. bottom line is the meaning has changed.. but when used by a white person the original meaning comes back.. and remember we're saying n!ggAH ( with an urban diction) not n!ggER the (originial negative caucasian spelling)
racism exists because of mannny ignorances not because of one degrading word.. not until the the world as a whole becomes more secure with themsleves and stops putting labels and judgements on other people with physical dissimilarities will racism stop.. and who really thinks thatll happen in theyre lifetime.. that would take a miracle or some type of divine intervention

no because they don't use it out of hate and since when most white people use it it's used as a derogatory term. when they use it it is just a term of endearment for them. and when white people use it like that and just say it like they do it sounds like we're trying to steal there culture. i for one feel that no one should use it because the webster's definition for the word is : an ignorant or mentally challenged person. it's an ugly word that really should have died a long time ago and better yet never have been used at all.

Not to me; you have no reason or say in the word; I however still believe no one should be saying it
I don't understand why white people want to say it so bad; even if you start calling each other crackers I don't think we'd be trying to say it to sound "cool"
And please note that you're the one complaining right now

Here's my question: why do white people get so upset after they realize they can't use it.....?
You can say anything you want....this is America. Just don't look at us when you get ridiculed and/or beat up.
White people seem "outraged" when that word comes out a white mouth....but these are the same white mouths saying "it's not fair that we cant use it"
Why do you wanna use it so badly.....?
No one should use it....so far that hasn't happened yet so just deal with the fact that white people will NEVER sound right, or cool by saing "n i g g e r"....just racist.
Not in public anyway.....plenty of whites use it behind closed doors so what's the problem?........bk

Yes, but you can say pretty much anything you want in America. We have freedom of speech, which is protected by the first amendment of the U.S. constitution.

Funny thing- women can call each other B---, but if a guy calls us that, we get all pissy.... It happens a lot.
As far as the N-word, I answered another question earlier today that addressed thie ethnic issue, the only reason that word is offensive is because blacks have allowed it that power.
Some groups (ethnic, religious, geographic...) are still 4 years old and go crying foul when someone makes fun of them. The rest of us have grown up and can handle a little ribbing.
