That's not fair. & not only that...he's considered a sex offender, a rapist, & a pedophile. I know plenty of fast teen girls in long term relationship with these men, & the whole time, they're thinking she's 19/20 yrs. old, while she's only 13 or 14 & her mom lets her do whatever she wants & grow up @ a young age b/c she's mom & dad's little angel & can NEVER do wrong in their eyes.
I believe that people don't deserve to be punished for what they do not know.

P&S was one of the "suggested" categories to put this question, so that's why I'm asking here.

It is very sad. There have been cases where I live when the guy is only 19 years old and the girl is 15 telling him she is 18. I have an 18 year old niece and a 16 year old niece. Most people can barely tell them apart.
That is a real rough one.

When your grown your grown, and there are things that comes with being an adult. That is why it is important to find out exactly the age, and other things as well before you go off dating and sleeping with someone. Now don't get me wrong I do understand that these days young girls are looking and acting older than what they really are, but when you mess around with someone that is entirely too young you will be punished for it...no ifs, ands or buts about it. What I do agree with is that parents should be more responsible for their children, and to not let them run loose and wild cuz it is waaaay too many dangerous sex offenders, rapist, and other crazy ppl out here waiting to catch them a young 13/14 yr old...

Actually, I think bars and clubs should be held liable as well since most men meet, what they think are, women above 18 in these establishments.
Even if these teens get through with fake ID and a guy gets busted for statutory, he could sue the club/bar saying that he met the girl in such an establishment where it is supposed to be for those of legal drinking age...or at the very least a roped off area for ladies 18 and over. Therefore, even if the girls lie about their age the club would be held responsible for ensuring that people OF the right criteria would be allowed in; therefore the guy caught in the stat would not be charged.....at the very least let off with a warning.

It's so sad because in this day and age being young is what everyone wants so then when we train these mens minds to like the young girl look and they find a girl who lies about there age they are the ones who get criticized and in trouble and that's not right. I really think the girl should actually get in trouble then others will learn not to do that.

I've never met a 13 year-old that could pass for 19, but I do think that guys who are duped by 16 & 17 year-old girls should be cut some slack. I also don't think that guys convicted of statutory rape should necessarily be registered as a sex offender. It is completely unfair for a guy to be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life because at 18 he slept with his 16 year-old girlfriend.

Men get into trouble because they don't bother to check if the girl is really as old as she says she is. They see the pretty girl and trust her automatically. They should learn to ask around and check IDs. It would save them a lot of time and trouble in the long run.

They should be punished for when they know better.
If a man is dating a girl who looks young, he needs to make sure she's legal. It's his responsibility.
Girls younger than 18 are considered children. It doesn't matter if they lie.
I don't think this scenario happens too often. Most people can tell if their chick is jailbait.

The stereotype that men are big strong controllers out to dominate others and especially take advantage of the weak would have a lot to do with it.

i would understand if she was about 16, but dang...
and i don't find anything wrong with older men sleeping with MATURE, and DEVELOPED young women..
but then again it's weird to see a 17 year old witha 30 year old...
love is love, no?
