I was in a car accident about a month a go. (head on) This guy may a left turn in front of me. I was taken to the ER from the scene. I Have a back x- ray and a CT Scan on my back. The doctor in the ER told me to follow up with my regular Dr. I didn' t have the money topay for this visit up front, and My Dr.'s officewould not wave the cost. So I didn't go. I have been having nightmares since the accident and they are getting worse. I also have some numbess in my left hand from time to time.I recntly got a call from The insurance Company to settle my calim They wanted to settle for $5000,and my medical bills would be deductided from this amount. ( total medical cost $4200). I would be left with $800 for pain and suffering. Is it to late to do a follow up with the DR. I don't want to settle and still have medical problems. My mother keeps telling me to get a lawyer, but i just want this to be over ASAP.

Go, see your doctor, do not settle with the insurance company for anything less than the cost of replacing your car, the total medical costs and 10% of all of the above for pain and suffering. Make this proposal to the insurance company, if they refuse it, then get yourself a lawyer.

Your claim is worth many times more than $5000.

You will regret it for the rest of your life if you don't.

Also see an osteopath.

Does your insurance have Personal Injury Protection?

If so get this opened to pay for the Dr Visits.

yes you can still go and submit the bills to the insurance company just tell them you need time to gather the bills adn go asap. If during the appt. the dr says you have need of more treatment for things due to the accident they will need to pay all of it. I know its expensive but go as many times as needed you dont wanna be stuck with problems and no one topay them in the future. Sorry for your pain, hope you feel 100% soon
