The end is near, if you read this all, and get to the end. :)
5 ways the world could end.

1.The end of "your" life that you have now, will probably end in 70years or less. Less because right now, a meteor could shot through your roof and hit you directly in the head. Or something like that.
2.
The end as in the end of the earth, could occur at any time. All Kim Jong-Li, or any other nuclear hostile nation, has to do is aim and fire.
This would create a nuclear domino effect.

3. The world could end with a major new virus, like that on 28 days later, or Dawn of the Dead. This would only occur if a new virus got into the wrong hands, or some terrible accident happened.

3. The world could end if a massive asteroid were to pillar itself into the earth, some unknown years from now.

4. Alien life forms from some galaxy, bent on universal domination, and basically blood hunters, could kill us all.

5. The end as in the universe, can never occur, for matter can not be destroyed or created. Second law of thermodynamics.

I am sure there are several others, but I am really not worried about the end of the earth, what about the 9 hr shift I have to work tomorrow. :(

Comment:
The end of the world that the Mayans suggested would occur in 2012 is just the end of the age. The age that we are now is called the Age of Pisces, in the Zodiac, and that age is also over too. I am not sure about the exact date.

It is almost impossible for me, or anyone else to answer this question, as you didn't specify what "the end" is. Do you mean a more selfish end? One that we define as when humans cease to exist here? If so, then the end is very near, both on a cosmic, and human basis. If humans continue the way we have, I highly doubt we will make it to the year 3000, which does not loom that far in the future if you think about it.

If your thinking in a more geographical way, as in when will the Earth cease to exist, it is, in all likelihood, much further in the future. The only ways the Earth could be destroyed is a massive celestial event (supernova, black hole, etc.) or alternatively an outside force (extraterrestrial destruction, human destruction, etc.).

Transliteration 63: Yasaluka alnnasu AAani alssaAAati qul innama AAilmuha AAinda Allahi wama yudreeka laAAalla alssaAAata takoonu qareeban

M. Khan 63: People ask you concerning the Hour, say: "The knowledge of it is with Allah only. What do you know? It may be that the Hour is near!"

Its a certainty that 1950DA will impact our planet in 877 years (March 16, 2880). Will we have the technology to nudge it off course by then? Perhaps. The apacolypse could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now, due to an accidental nuclear launch by one of the superpowers. It's an astronomical certainty our sun will supernova in about 4.5 billion years from now. Predicting the end is a waste of time, there are hundreds of possibilities.

The ones that scare me are the unmapped planet killers, particularly the ones coming from behind the sun. At the point of seeing them, there'll be little time for interdiction. We need at least 10 years advance notice of global impact.

Soon, but in terms of the Earth, soon is still not in our lifetime. Just look at the way she's getting back at us... I think we've got a great deal of natural disasters in our future... famines, the whole deal as the Earth tries to save herself and combat our growing overpopulation. The Earth will keep going, but we've seen the dominant species go away before - we'll probably be the next "dinosaurs."

Nobody in this world could tell when the world will end. I believe it is only God the Creator who can decide on the matter. God created this wonderful world for us to live. Questioning the cessation of everything is for me ending the life of everyone. Personally, i don't like it because there are so many things to discover the wonders of life. Let's enjoy it!

you know it really depends on whom you ask that question to. some ppl think that the world is going to end in 2012 like the myan calender suggests. otherrs obviously fallow the bible but its a little vague dont you think tells you god will return in 2000 years to take his fallowers to heaven, then satan will have a 1000 years to reign. and after that will be the end of the world. most scientists beleive thatits going to be like millions of years down the road and the sun willengulf the earth naturally but who is to b beleived?
I say dont think about it an enjoy what ever time we have left. besides remember alot of pplthought the world was going to end on new years year 2000

The end is far, far away for Earth... if it goes the natural way, that is. But if something comes in the way of the end before it reaches it itself, like nuclear war, the end will definitely be sooner.
