I want to believe, but it is much harder not to believe. I know this answer is the opposite of what you postulate, but for me it is true. When everyone around you "believes" something (what it is they believe really doesn't matter) - it is much harder to be the one who doesn't - it causes you to become isolated and stigmatized as being "different" - where the essence of modern society is conformity and blending in with the group,

It is much easier to possess enough faith to believe than not. Those who have issues with not believing in something or someone are skeptics, most likely based on previous experiences. But, we should find it in us to have a willingness to believe, even in that which cannot be seen.

Absolute belief requires faith.
With faith, it's easiest to believe even that which is invisible and intangible.
I don't need a sign nor a persuasive discourse to swear my heart into it.
I will know within me that it exists...and is there...in all truth.

Without faith, one will find it extremely inexcusable to believe.
And what I don't believe, I simply brushed aside.

I always listen to both sides though...
To both wise and imprudent accounts.
And just as it's easy to believe a believable truth...
it's the hardest to believe a lie.

Everyone believes in something or they would be a veg. on the floor and not move. They have to believe they can walk or they can't (because if you truly believed that you couldn't you would not even try)- they have to believe they can read or they can't etc....if you don't believe in anything it can not exist in your reality....because you have to perceive something in order for it to exist to you and vice versa- if you can percieve it it has to exist! For all of you doubters out there that will say they can imagine a lot of things that are not real- I would only say that your imagination of it was!

I , personally, want to believe, however some people find it easier not to believe because they may not know how to deal with it once they have it.

It's easiest to believe what sounds most comforting to you, but that's not what's usually the case... for if you try to figure it out the hard way, you may come up with nothing at all, right? It depends on what your views are. If you have them, that is.

We want to believe. It gives us structure. Without beliefs, we can do whatever we want, but I think mose of us are a little afriad of all that - that kind of existential radical freedom. Beliefs give us structure and a feeling of belonging with whomever shares our "ism".

As a Christian ,
Those who believe in God are for myriads of reasons , and those that don't believe , ( in my opinion ) don't accept what they don't see because they won't take that leap of faith . Unless they can test and hypothesize the theory .
They need hard evidence as opposed to faith . Most of my scientist , and atheists friends are like this .
