I'm creating this park as a setting, and it's a kind of "picnic-park" thing, if you know what I mean. I thought about having the smell of pizza in the air, but that seems kind of weird.

The smell of flowers like Lavender, or Jasmin. I think the smell of freshly cut grass is the best. You can also have the smell of land freshly watered, that's like the smell you get when it just starts raining.

I hope this helps

Take Care :-)

Why should the smell of pizza be such a weird thing? You gotta stop and think about what kind of experinces your character has been through, or how most people view the park. Let's say you've got a character who has many happy memories of the park. And there are various smells and sounds in the park that bring these memories back. The smell of pizza, flowers in bloom, hamburgers, the trees, combined with the sounds of a merry-go-round, children laughing, and a band playing could be something the character really associates with the park. Any of these being among the missing could make the park feel a little lonely while certain new additions could make it feel totally wrong.

Any smell that the character/characters finds to be pleasant to them can be happy smells. The smell of lilacs in bloom might remind someone of a beloved grandmother. Pizza might be associated with birthday parties or hanging out with friends and family. Pine trees might remind a person who enjoyed/enjoys camping of a memoriable and enjoyable camping trip. Fresh cut grass and wild flowers could bring up memories of a date spent in the park. The list can go on and on.

Maybe fresh cut grass or cotton candy? I can imagine a cotton candy machine in a park for some reason.
