Whenever I hear people debate the 'cause' of homosexuality, they always seem to think that there is only one of them. Has anybody ever thought that some people might be born homosexual, while others are born heterosexual and just choose to have sex with members of thier own gender?
I'm gay, but I've had sex with women. I don't think that changes the fact that I prefer men. If I started dating a women, I would still be gay. I think in a simialar way, some heterosexual people may experiment with thier own gender without changing who they are.
So what do you think about my ramblings?

I think people -choose- who they date with and who they sleep with. Their sexual behavior.
However, I don't think people -can- choose who they are naturally attracted to. Their sexual orientation.
A gay person can marry a wife and suppress their feelings, but in the end, they only end up ignoring their natural feelings, and it doesn't do anything but hurt them mentally in the end.
Experimenting is one thing, ignoring is something else.

Good answer Garrett C.... Homosexuality is biological; there is new research out but it's too complex to go into.
Personally, I have always thought everyone is bisexual; if you haven't done it, you have at least thought about it. Admit it or not, I really don't care. If you read the Kinsey reports, you will find that he says, if you have had at least one same sex encounter, then you CANNOT consider yourself straight. Again, the research is too much to go into.
People do choose who they want to be with; it's called an "attraction". However, they do not choose their orientation. For those who think it's a choice, imagine trying to fall in love with a member of the same gender.........You can't do it.
You, on the other hand, say that you are gay, but you have had sex with women......Well, I consider that bisexual, NOT homosexual. You can be bi and sway in the direction to find men more sexually attractive or the opposite.

I think some people have a genetic disposition which causes them to be sexually attracted to a person of the same gender. I don't believe homosexuality is a result of environmental factors.
I certainly believe in bi-sexuals so a person can be attracted to both men and women. Whether or not a person acts on those feelings is their choice. My sister is an example of bi-sexuality. She is equally attracted to both men and women.

yes people are gay no matter what sex. i think you are born with it but are truely made that way by the way ur parents act around you, for example if they have you doing girly stuff when you are1 then the chances are you will think its normal for your childhood and grow up permently with that feeling.

I think that scientists have concluded that there ARE many causes of being gay, and that genetics is only one factor.
