I would like to hear some somewhat valid ghost stories from the United States.

This one happened to my mom while she was pregant with my sister. We were living in a rental house in Nashville, TN. As she got ready for bed one night, she was sitting on the bed brushing her hair. She looked up at the bedroom doorway and saw a woman standing there in a nightgown. Naturally, she screamed,and the woman vanished.My stepdad awoke, but I was about 3 and slept through the whole thing. He got up and checked out the house, nothing out of the ordinary. My mom asked the agent the house was rented from about unusual occurrences, and it turned out that a woman was shot to death in that very spot one evening by her estranged husband. He shot her through the bedroom window as she prepared for bed. My mom insisted on moving out shortly after. She only told me about it a few years ago.

This is a true story I swear! Me, my sister, and my two cousins, Morgan and Alyssa were at my grandpa's house that is over 100 years old. Morgan is my age and Alyssa is a little over my sister's age. My sister and Alyssa didn't want me and morgan bothering them in this one room, so they closed the door and locked it and told us they were locked in and we should go catch them out the window. We both ran outside and then we figured out they just didn't want us bothering them, so we ran back upstairs to find the doorknob had fallen off out of nowheres and they were really locked in! My dad had to run up there and fix the knob while my sister and Alyssa screamed!

right now i always hear sh*t where i live like around 12 am thru 1 am.i think a little kid died in my apartment. i hear footsteps,voices,dishes moving around, and sometimes like around 8 am ive heard sounds like if someone's having some cereal in the kitchen and i came out once and nothing was there.my mom also claims to have seen a few small kid-like shadows.who knows....

just from the US? there are lots of scary stories from other countries as well.
