i have already installed DivX though and still nothing. I was thinking that maybe Vista was causing the problem.Can anyone plz help me with that?

Open the movie with your Windows Media Player. When it starts, right click File, then Properties.
The movie may have a different sound codec (Nero Digital Sound). I would suggest you need to download the right codec, or you could use Divx Encoder (free download program) to re-code the sound for playing with a standard Divx player

My guess is you don't have the proper audio codec installed. To make this as simple as possible, download and install the Combined Community Codec Pack, aka CCCP. That will have all the codecs to play just about any video and audio that you might have.

It is probably the player that you use doesnt support the codecs of the movie.. try using VLC player

try it on WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.. if it still doesn't work then the only thing i know and use is to download a CODEC PACK for windows media player.. basically adds the information that you dont have..

yes its possible vista is a problem ... try going to afterdawn and getting ffdshow ... that will probably fix it .. u prolly need an ac3 codec and ffdshow has it ..
