Turnout of voting-age population (percent) :

2004 55.3%

2000 51.3%

1996 49.1%

**These numbers represent a just slightly higher female turnout over that of the men.

***However, in India, the reverse is true, with higher percentage rates, although the gap is still quite small.

Women should have the right to vote because leaving elections to 25% of the population is ridiculous.

Women should have the right to vote. Women have played and have always played an important roll in their countries. Women have and raise the children, care for the households, most work in and outside the home. Some have paying jobs, some are strong supporters of campaigns that keep their countries going. My grandmother for example, never had a paying job outside the home. During WW2 she volunteered for the American Red Cross.

First of all, we already have that right. Secondly, we have it because we earned it. And thirdly, there are two different genders, one may see things from one point of view, the other may see a different side. I know one of my females friends AND myself, get asked by by males to take a look at situations they're in. Why? Because they want an outside view point and from someone who might, and usually does, see somethings they have overlooked. and both me AND my friend, have see things that the males did NOT see, and we pointed them out. I know for a lot of reasons that the better portion of males in the world only see one aspect or point of view. It's psychology and human behavior that proves this. So to have females voting is actually a good thing, if you would just take a look at all angles

Women are citizens in this country. Any government decisions affect all citizens including women. Women have the right to vote because they also need to be heard when it comes to such important decisions. By voting, our voices are heard.
