1) don't buy gifts for everyone you know, infact don't at all I never do

2) work for that day. My boss pays me triple pay to work on christmas eve/day, overtime counts too, woohoo

Post a circular on bullet boards in your area offering your services as Christmas helper offer to christmas shop wrap packages address christmas cards bake cookies any thing you can do that would help a busy person at christmas time I've done this for several years and it's great You can charge by the hour or buy the job

I do drop off babysitting for people that need to do shopping and also do pet sitting for those going away over the holidays I wrap presents for those that dont want to

Work Christmas Day - that's what I do and I get paid overtime.
