It's sad to see some of the greatest cyclist (AND swimmers) criticized by people because they shave their legs. They only shave their legs to go faster. Which takes a loooooooooooooooooot of guts. Personally, I think if men shaved their legs at LEAST once a year, they would be easier to clean up. In the shower, their soap bar wouldn't get in their jungles they call "legs". Lol.

As I understand it, most women of the world don't shave their legs. Virtually no men shave their legs unless there is a reason, perceived or real, for doing so.
There seems to be a theoretical correlation in western culture between body hair and cleanliness. Obviously, some people just have a preference for or against it, but culturally, I think we've been duped into thinking that less/no hair is "cleaner" than hair...except on the head. Aside from being an annoyance, perhaps, hair is not unclean. A clean person with body hair is no less clean that a clean person without it.
I don't see any reason to judge anyone for either having or not having body hair - at least from a cleanliness point-of-view. I certainly would not conclude that a person - male or female - is of one sexual orientation or another due to their shaving or not shaving bodily hair.
Anyway, that's what I think about the matter.

It's really just a matter of personal choice, aside from swimmers and cyclists.
I shave. Winter is fine, but I shave my body during the summer just to keep cooler during the hot weather. The hair acts like insulation under clothes, and I sweat more with it.
(and in winter, I appreciate the extra layer. LOL)

I'm gay, but the reason I shave or wax my legs and body, is that many people around me find it much more attractive then my hairy legs, and I also shave my entire body. I have no problem with bikers or swimmers that shave their legs as it gives them a performance edge. And it does not bother me that other men and women shave their legs based on wether they want to or not.

Shaving you legs for a professional reason is a bit different from a personal reason. Guys are suppose to have hairy legs, just like girls are suppose to have smooth legs. It's just a stereotype I guess. And so when they have smooth legs, they are gonna be considered girly or gay. I prefer hairy but not forest hairy on guys legs.

I agree. People shave for different reasons, and it is a fact that shaved legs are cleaner because hair is a heaven for germs. I always trim my armpits, just so I won't have to use as much deodorant, lol (I know, TOO much information!).

Swimmers shave their legs. If a man has a reason, then fine. But shaving them without a good reason is....well.....open for discussion.

They actually shave to make them go faster. If my bloke shaved his legs I would hide his razor. Facial hair or no facial hair, I'm willing to risk it for a bloke to have hairy legs!! xx

I'm 29M and bare chested and get teased by my freinds male and female, in all good fun. I have peach fuzz on my legs and arms.
Hair on a body is a masculine thing. If a guy lacks it, his masculinity is questioned.
