How safe would you consider it?
Would it be a good car for a 17 year old girl?
Any problems out of them?

well my friend has the '06 Cobalt and nothing has gone wrong with it she loves it and i just finalized my purchase on one yesterday because of her success with it and the affordability of it. I posted a link to Motortrends Crash test rating if you would like to check it out

The Cobalt is a pretty sturdy vehicle. It replaced the Cavalier in '05. I think it would be ideal for a 17 year old girl. I saw a really nice red one the other day, it was the ss supersport. So far no problems that I'm aware of. Chevy has another winner.

The girl across the street has on after my talking to her. It's a very solid car, plus pretty good on gas and yet still a little sporty. I think that it is perfect for a teen. One more thing, it scored very well in the crash test.

A good car for a teenage girl, that's like jumbo shrimp, or military intellgence, it really doesn't exist. Why don't you look up reviews on the internet? That would give crash test ratings, fuel efficiency, reliablity tests, all sorts of stuff.

Just got one for my daughter, yes safe as any car can be, most safety factors depend on the driver, and how they operate the vehicle, not the vehicle itself.

i own an 05 cobalt, i got it when i was 17. love the style, never crashed in it so i donno how safe it is, but i would imagine its safe
only problem is the gas mileage is really not all that great

great car for youth,safe ,good gas milage just not good for resale.
