Billy hon, there are pre-nuptual jitters for sure. You are wondering if you are making the worst mistake you have ever made? Or about to? Sit down someplace really quiet and peaceful and think, a lot. Figure out if you can really live with the person you are about to marry. Think about what the worse stuff he or she does, the stuff that drives you really nuts. Also the stuff you think is sort of cute. It might not be in a year or two. It might drive you right up the wall then. Think about you too. Do you want to live with this person for....ever. Someone once told me...don't think that you can't live without this guy; think about what your life would be WITHOUT him. Can you live with this person not in your life? Does he make you laugh more than cry? Does he ask you what you think in a situation, asking what you would do. Does he share his life with you, all the good stuff, all the crummy stuff? I'm female, and that stuff is important to me. But it is important to be able to love fully too; male or female. After you think by yourself...talk to the person you are going to marry. Ask that person all the things you think are most important, even if it is just what way the toilet paper hangs on the holder. Make sure this person treats the least important people in your lives with the same respect and care that he or she treats the most important. At the end of the day, you want someone who loves, is gentle, caring, and will support you in your dreams as you support them in theirs.
Good luck hon. If it doesn't add up right, then ...it won't work right in your life. But if it has more pluses than minuses, then you win!

I would wonder about people if they didnt get the pre-marital jitters. Getting married is one of the biggest decisions anyone can make. People really need to think hard and long before they marry someone they're supposed to spend their entire life with. It's a lot better to feel those jitters before and try to resolve any issues that come up than to get married and find out later it's too late.

I think Usher had a bad case of that today. But seriously yes there is such a thing. As to the huge mistake--one should hope that they would realize that before it got to the wedding planning stage.

Yeeeaaahhhh .... it's called "cold feet."

It's just fear of the unknown, fear of starting off on a lifetime trip when you don't know what's in store. Fear of being really grown up at last, and not knowing if you're ready for it.

You usually know if you're making a huge mistake. There would be concrete reasons. Like, your fiance beats you, or they lie, or have some other deep-seated personality fault that you know about. If that's the case, don't marry them. If it's just free-floating jitters, have a glass of wine and enjoy your party!
