Does anybody in this politics section recognize humor or sarcastic humor when they read it?

Sarcastic humor is not always something that comes across easily when typed and read. Without the inflection of your voice it can be hard to tell. I would think people who know you and your views though would be able to tell when you are being sarcastic though. You can ask or answer a question in any manner as long as you are technically following the rules that Yahoo has set up for all users to follow.

I've gotten angry email from people who had no idea I was writing satire. However, what tops them all is the fact that some guy gave me Best Answer for this question:

"Will the World ever forgive America for the last 6 years?"

The comment he wrote under his question was:
"As I see it it will be rough on the next President to un do all the damage thats been done ". I read his other posts to confirm he was very, very Liberal, and anti-Bush.

However, he was not a very smart Liberal. This is my answer for which he not only gave me Best Answer, but praised me!

No, the world should NEVER forgive America for all the evil it has wrought in the last six years.

It was inexcusable for Bush to liberate the Afghans from the tyranny of the Taliban. Those Afghan women who had a lock of hair showing from under their stifling burkas probably deserved a good beating now and then. And besides, these people have brown skin. BROWN SKIN!! Who cares about brown skinned people anyway?

We should hang our heads in shame for liberating the Iraqis fro the Butcher of Baghdad. Those stupid Kurds who love Bush should be shot for treason. Everyone knows that Iraqis are incapable of handling democracy. They need a stern dictator to keep them in line. Arabs aren't ready for democracy yet. They are too primitive.

Bush should be impeached for keeping the U.S. from suffering any more attacks since 9-11. We need more attacks on U.S. soil so we can be properly contrite for all the evil we have done.

I respond to many like that. There are even those with apposing views that I think highly of and sometimes I'll really irk 'em. But they know who I am and I anticipate paybacks. LOL

we do, but only one side appreciates it. for instance whats funny to Chi Guy, would not necessarily be funny to me and vise versa. really I like to do it and to read it, from both sides unless it's dealing with harm to a politician or person who is near and dear to me (if there is such a person).
