Everybody knows that he cheated by using steroids, even his fans (but they choose not to pay atenttion to it). I personally am just annoyed that so many great athletes have had their records smashed by him. It's sad, b/c a lot of people don't realize how good he was BEFORE he used. But now, his whole "legacy" has been tarnished by the stupid mistake to use steroids.

If Barry has taken steroids his batting skill would not have been enhanced. He is by far a skilled player with great hand eye control with his bat. Now if he did take steroids his record should be taken. The only problem with taking it is that the league must first find out when he started using steroids. Before his 73 home run season he still hit a good number of home runs. Barry is a good player but his attitude could be better.

I feel Barry Bonds like other players of the era from 1990 until a strong anti drug law was passed a few years ago by major league baseball ,cheated. Thus I have no interest in his record. However I do feel some of the blame for this goes to the owners who were more interested in their attendance figures than if their players were breaking the laws of the U. S. government.

MLB looked the other way for years before Bonds ever tried steriods. That was their way of saying, "use them to boost our ratings but don't get caught", and now they want to put all the blame on one guy.
No * by the record as far as I'm concerned. All the players were allowed to use steriods when he was juicing, and a lot more of them than we are being told about, including many of the pitchers he was facing, were doing just that.

I really hope Bonds isn't on steroids. I wish him good luck on breaking the record. There is less than 3 hours until the next game for him starts I believe.

Lots of guys cheat...he is the poster boy for all of MLB. Dont like him...never have (even before he cheated) but bottom line is he still has to hit a round ball with a round bat and has done it better than anyone (including all the other cheaters). Asterisk may be in order (again we have to assume the Hall is full of non-cheaters, several have admitted to one form or another...doctoring balls, etc.) but Bonds still did it often with little help and monster walk totals. Teams ...fill in the blank_____..(fear, respect) him still or they wouldnt walk him 2 or 3 times a game even while he is mired in a slump.

I say, Who cares about all his Steroid intake! Let's forget about his past and go on.
Why the heck does the Government need to Out-Law Steroids in the first place?? There are many other Harmful things that will Hurt the body worse then Steroids.
Take 'Cigaretts'. Why don't they make Cigaretts illegal too if they make Steroids illegal.
-----------------------
Now I got that off my chest. (sigh) :)
Yes. Way to go, Bonds!!!
One more HR then you'll be Tide
with Hank A.
Or did he Hit that 755 yet today ???

Roger Maris had an asterisk placed next to his 61 home run season because he did it during a season that had more games played than when Babe Ruth hit 60. If Roger Maris gets an asterisk, I don't see any reason why Barry shouldn't get an asterisk next to both records (Season and career) with a note that states *Accomplished during the steroids era.

Honestly I just wish it would be over with. A year or two ago I was really against him doing it, but this season it has really taken so much away from the general coverage of baseball, that I just wish he would get it over with. In addition I'm tired of this being a "race" issue when the all-time HR king is already black.
