Yes I have written one, which I will be trying to get published later this year, and I have the start of another one.

I enjoy various types of reading, but find science fiction a good form of escapism.

Good ones, yes. But there is a lot of trash out there in the Sci Fi world. I especially love Cyberpunk - Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age is phenomenal. And the true classic of the genre is William Gibson's Neuromancer. What a truly amazing book! When it comes to Sci Fi, I am especially picky. I do not read trash. Pax - C

Yes I like Science fiction and... the other guy... Stephen King is not an science fiction writer... he is an horror/horror fiction writer. I like "Waves calm the wind" by A&B Strugatki and many more. But I like horror mostly: Lovecraft, Dean Koontz, Stephen King (not that much but... hey!), etc.

Yep. I've been reading science fiction since I was about eight years old. Sometimes I think it is the least escapist form of literature and seeks to address problems in the real world that other genres ignore.

Yeah, I like sci-fi, but usually prefer horror books.
Unlike a lot of ppl tho, if I like the film/TV series, I usually find I can't get into the books. I love Stephen King films/series, but can't get into his books.
Same goes for things like star trek/wars. I love them on screen, but can't read the books.
Mrs. AnArdRi can I point out that Dan Brown is neither a horror or a sci fi writer? His books are of the adventure genre.

Yes. But I prefer older ones from HG Wells, and John Wyndham. I have a copy of The Midwich Cuckoos, and a taped radio programme copy from a few years ago. Arthur C Clarke is good too.

Only if they treat a more elevated subject, such as Stanislaw Lem's ones (Solaris, Silent Star, Futurologic Congress asf.).

Yes it's my favourite genre. I finished Eric Van Lustbader Pearl saga about a month ago and it was excellent.
