No, it's gone. Like the light in the fridge. If you close the door, it's gone. That goes for everything (my socks don't exist at night either).

I know my brain is there but I've never seen it. Same with all of my internal organs and a lot of other things. I cant see the wind either, but I can see the leaves moving on the trees.

The ability to see something has little to do with its existence. We can't see in the infrared or ultra violet spectrum, but with tools, they can be perceived. Visible light is only one method of perception.

Seeing is not the only method of measurent we have. We also hear and feel. Imagine loosing all of these senses, ie you cannot see, hear, or feel anything, how do you know if anything besides you exists?

Go into your bathroom tonight after dark. Don't turn the light on. Are you still there because you cannot see yourself?

When I was a kid I thought I could see everything, and I could, for a kid. Now that I'm an 'adult' I know I can't see everything.

I tell you what. Put on a blindfold and jump out the window. You will find out if the ground is there or not.
