I have a 2006 automatic scooter and it turns on just fine. However, when I try to "go" it just stops. As I was driving one day, it just started slowing down on its own and eventually stopped. I haven't been able to get it to move since. I've had the following checked:
-Air-flow mechanism was tightened (could this possibly need to be tightened again)?
-No crossed wires or loose wires
-Battery was fully charged
-There was enough gas
-There was enough motor oil
-There is no internal computer

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If the bike will start and shut down when you open the throttle to get going, I would guess you have a restriction in the fuel system somewhere.

You may have a problem with the vacuum activated fuel valve on the tank. Check that all the hoses are in there proper place and on tight at the carburetor, intake manifold, and fuel tank. If you find a cracked hose or overly tight hose, don't play around just replace it.

Possibly the float valve in the carburetor is stuck partially closed and starving the engine for fuel. Take the carburetor off, remove the float bowl, remove the float, and clean out the fuel inlet with some carb cleaner. It's amazing what you can sometimes find in that little passage way, even on new bikes.
Hope that helps

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
2 & 4 stroke engines can have similar problems with different repair procedures.
Someone may have your same model, had the same problem and know the repair procedure.
More details are needed.
Does the engine run, but the scooter won't move?
Does the engine run, but when you acelerate, the engine shuts off?
If the engine doesn't run, does the spark plug fire?
What is an air flow mechanism?
Check the compression - if it's a 2 stroke, the oil tank may have gone empty and wrecked the piston & rings.
Check for spark - lay the threads of the spark plug against the engine while the cap is still on and press the starter button.
Drain the carburetor - might have water in the gas.
Need more details.

I don't know much about scooters, so just to throw something new out there, your initial problem sounds like what would happen if the fuel cap vent was obstructed. If you don't have a vent on your gas tank, usually in the gas cap, a vacuum can build and slow or prevent fuel from getting to your carb. Try running it with the gas cap loose or off see if it makes a difference.
And I'm sure your petcock was turn to on or reserve, so you might check to see there's no obstruction at the petcock or fuel line.
If you've got enough fuel, spark and air it should be running for the most part.
