I can't think of my own birthday, but I can think of my son's birthday. My husband took my son and I on a mini vacation for my son's 2nd birthday. We stayed over night in a nice hotel and my son spent his 2nd birthday at a huge zoo. Fun time!

My older brother sang "Happy Birthday" to me , watched me make a wish and blow out all my candles, and gave me a sweet kiss on the forehead on my 10th birthday. It was simple..didn't cost any money, and I will remember that birthday till the day I die.

My brother flew to the UK from Australia to see me for my 18th as a surprise. It was amazing!
He gave me a silver bracelet, which he had engraved with a message that read on one side 'Happy 18th CC' and on the other 'Love Big Bro'. This meant so much to me. CC is what he's called me since I was born and I always referred to him as my big bro. I haven't taken it off since he gave it to me 2 years ago.
Something so personal and thoughtful was a wonderful gift. Maybe you could try something similar, a bracelet or a locket or something.

A surprise birthday party was the best and I was really surprised. My husband planned it, friends were there and family and lots of food, it was fun.

My mother had a sweet 16 party for me. She never let me go to other birthday parties, but had one for me and I invited my friends. It was good.
