The second one. hands down. faster pentium speed. By the way you might also want to make sure they install vista on it before you buy it, and you should buy your own 1 gig ram upgrade if you plan on using it for gaming.

The computers are identical and refurbished sooo that means there are problems with them, the prices they are asking for is reasonable but I know the warranty service from first hand experience and they are not good. Do to content rules I can't say more. But with a 90 day warranty the second has parts and labor so only that would be better they are identical except the brand name. the catch is if they go bad and you have to ship you will have to pay the shipping cost and it could be as much as $150.00 one way. Beware read the fine print on the return policy, look up and see what their problems have been and then see if you can fix it, like a better cooling fan if that causes the CPU to fail or if their are problems with memory or motherboard. I don't like built on sound cards and they both have one except the second says a 5.1 sound system but it does not say sound blaster and that is a registered trademark. one of the companies use hard wired stuff so you can't upgrade so beware check it out before you lay your bucks Down. Gateway GT5428RA Intel Pentium D Dual Core 935 3.2GHz Computer is the slightly better model, according to the specs. But they're both about the same and you wouldn't really notice a difference.

BOth are refurbished ( Thats not a good idea) specially if u are planning to buy it at best buy!! that store sucks for returns and warranties.

They charge u a lot of restocking fees and at the end THe warranty doesnt COver a thing.

I tell you for experience. IF you want a nice computer then buy a new one maybe a cheaper one but u know wont give you trouble..

Go with the Gateway.

Emachines and Gateway are basically the same company. The two computers are basically the same. The Gateway is slightly better, however.
