Cold cannot "change" into heat. The presence of heat vanquishes cold. Darkness doesn't "Change" into light. The presence of light vanquishes darkness.

I do not about the Earth but for me light came first then darkness. I believe God sends us all with light but Humans can convert it into darkness for whatever reason. Taking a cue from my personal experience - light came first and then darkness.

The darkenss came first. The reason why is because light is a substance. Light invades darkness, when the light ceases to exist, it is dark again.

Good question. It was asked in IS or IPS (whatever it is) examination interview! Good thinking, Darkness, because before god created light there was darkness! Light came because there was darkness.

firstly , i would like to indicate the word ' DARKNESS ' , as ' DIFFICULTIES ' OBSTACLES ' . only then i will be able to give your answer .
I THINK IT WOULD BE ' DARKNESS ' .
if it wouldn't have been darkness then the ancient man would never have found ' LIGHT ' ( ' FIRE ' though accidentally )
if it wouldn't have been ' DARKNESS ' then no man would have ever bothered to work hard to earn a living .
as the saying goes '' THE DARKEST NIGHT IS BEFORE DAWN ''
so certainly , it must have been ' DARKNESS ' if there wouldn't be ' DARKNESS ' first , then no one would know the true value of ' LIGHT '

light and darkness could be attributed to a persons character, so its beter a person who was in dark (bad) turns towards light (good)
and if there is light where is the question of darkness?
