Hey try drinking plenty of water, and cranberry juice, your urine may be a little strong at the moment. Don't think its nothing to worry about. If it gets worse of course you see your gp, but try this for 2-3 days. Good luck. xx

Go see your doctor. You most probably have a UTI and this can happen if you are run down or you are just getting over an illness. They are more common than you think and there's no point in suffering in silence. They are not transferred like STDs.

It's best to talk to your doctor first. Don't be embarrassed, tell the doc that you are a bit shy, she will understand and put your mind at rest.

She's most likely to prescribe a strain of penicillin but if you don't feel better within a week or if you feel worse, go back again as you may be allergic to penicillin and you will have to be prescribed something else.

You can be tested for penicillin allergy and it goes on your permanent medical records - to protect you if you ever need medical attention and are unable to notify the staff of your allergy.

But above all, remember this, your doctor will have examined many women for this and she is a professional.

BTW, if your doctor is male (like your family's doctor), you can ask for a female doctor to examine you - that's your right.

Oh, and one more thing, If you have been using a lot of soap, or taking more showers or baths recently, your soap may have caused this. Some times the soap can cause a reaction as you describe - this can clear within a day or two. Just be careful how much soap or body shampoo you use.

I did a double take when I read your question as there is a track from an album called 'Joe's Garage' by Frank Zappa, called 'Why Does it Hurt When I Pee'?. It's true I kid you not. Anyway what you describe sounds like cystitis, so your best bet is to get a check up at the doctors. If that is the trouble then medication will soon clear it up.

Why do you not believe you have a UTI? One of the symptoms is painful urination. UTI's are quite serious and are called "creeping infections" - if you don't take care of them, you can wind up with a kidney infection. Get to a doc.

In the meantime, you can take AZO Standard, which will help with your symptoms. Also, cranberry juice acts as a great astringent for the urinary tract. HOWEVER, contrary to popular belief, don't just grab whatever off the shelf. Cranberries are not naturally sweet and juices that you buy in the store contain tons of sugar, a breeding ground for bacteria and no good for a UTI.
Go to a natural foods store and buy all-natural, sugar-free cranberry juice. It's going to taste awful, but you can cut it with some water. Try to drink about 8 oz of it a day.

This should help!

You don't really need any ' causes ' for a UTI, other than the fact that you are female. Certainly cystitis in a female is by far the commonest cause of pain on passing urine, though there are others. They occur simply because female anatomy places the urethra close to the anus. You should chat to someone soon as UTIs should not be left untreated.

Don;t worry, I am not a doctor but this sounds like cystitis. DO you feel like you are peeing cut glass, if so its nothing to worry about you need to go get some medicine and it will pass. Years ago they used to boil cherry stalks and drink the water, this is good and I have done this before.

It could be a bout of cystitis. You're worried enough about it to ask the question, so make an appt to see your gp. It's only a moment of embarrassment if that's what is worrying you. Once you have medication, assuming you need it, things will right themself.

Painful urination can be a symptom of UTI. The only way to know for sure is for the doctor to take a sample of your urine and send it off to a lab for further analysis. If it is a UTI then they will give you antibiotics to help clear it up.

urine infection easy to get does not involve sex treatment antibiotics from doctor.
Cystitis easy to get and does not involve sex needs antibiotics from doctor but can buy over the counter tmedicine now and drink lots of acid type drinks pearl barley, cranberry juice or lemon juice to flush it away.
Cut yourself can be easy done scratched your bits or tried to put in tampon and have cut skin so when you wee it stings like hell as urine is acid and on open wound will sting but as the flow goes so will pain treatment time to heal.
To me it sounds like you have a small cut as you are so adiment it is not UTI or Cystitis or not had sex.

if still like it monday pop to doctor as cut should heal better by then forgot to add that

It sounds like a bladder infection - a pretty comon thing for us women unfortunately, but easy to clear up with pills. I've had my share of them. You must make a doctors apt. is the bad news, I don't think you can get anything over the counter for it.
