I dont know whats going on, he might have been a one year wonder, maybe (i hope) he can turn it around in his home state in the upcoming U.S. Open. The main reason I responded though was to say LOL at Michella Kraijeck...

What the hell is going on? He was up against a kid who served 34 aces. Yes, thats right, 34 aces. Thats the equivalent of 8.5 games in free points. Blake did well to take it to 3 tie-breaks playing against someone serving like that.
Blakes problem is that he overachieved last year. He still has plenty of good tennis left, and enough to stay in the bottom half of the top ten, but that half, or the bottom 8 for that matter, is light years behind Federer, and to a lesser extent, Nadal.
The problem with Blakes game is that it is very erratic. When he is on and his shots hit the line he can beat most players, but when theyre not, he looks very ordinary.
P.S. No grown man loses to Donald Young.

Hey now, Querrey is a rising star! He will be a force in the future. Blake seems to tight up in close matches, you know that. I don't think it's his time to retire, he's only 27, but his window is closing for a major. I think he will get it together and make a serious run at the US Open.
Best of luck to James, and to his great book.

I don't think he needs to retire. Obviously his recent results have been disapointinting, but its not the end of the world. He can get back on track, but it will just take a little effort. Confidence is also key. He often seems to hit the panic button when a match gets tough. He'd be better to relax a little and calmly figure out a backup plan.

This year, Blake has been loosing very badly....I will not be
surprised if he looses to an unseeded or unknown player.
He has lost to all big serves recently and I saw loosing in San Jose....
But common, give me a break and definitely not to Michella.
If he continues to play like he is playing, he better just retire
and get involved in the sport in other forms.

So you're the one who asked that original question of Blake needs a new coach or not! What a small world. Anyways, I think Blake's latest result answers your question.

He is very athletic but not known for consistency. He can upset a top seed on a good day but lose to an unseeded the next day.

I was amazed about that too! Blake is awesome and he lost to Querry, WTH, he shouldn't retire though, he just needs to step back up, get better, he's usually very good! (BEST ANSWER! 8D)
