Who 'invented' carbon offset credits and who profits from them?

Also...

Since it began erupting on Jan. 3, 1983, the Kilauea, Hawaii volcano has been sending an average of 2,000 metric tons of sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere each day
http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/Hazards/What/VolGas/VolGasPollution.html

You know, if we had only just signed the Kyoto Protocol, that volcano wouldn’t be polluting like that, right?

It’s true - my fortune cookie said so!

With all the methane gas deposits, CO2 deposits, sulfur dioxide and other naturally occuring pollutants issuing forth from the Earth, why aren’t the environmentalists protesting the Earth?

It’s trying to commit suicide!

It’s trying to abort itself!

Or maybe - like scientists have been saying for decades - the Earth equalizes itself, and there is really no harm being done by people

No one benefits but the politicians (not scientists, but politicians) who are peddling this lie.

Dream on. The fact is when I grew up in Minnesota we had piles and piles of snow by November. The last years we either had a green Christmas or barely snow my December. I don't see why you refuse to fix what we can fix because if states like Minnesota start losing their lakes, all of America is going to be in trouble. I mean the south is already begging us to supply you with water from the Great Lakes, it must be getting a little hot down south. Also, we wont have gas forever, so why does it hurt to try to think of other ways to use transportation and energy. We should we be buying SUV's that use too much gas, it's obviously harmful to OUR health. Why do so many kids have Asthma now? Why are our cities covered in smog? The fact is you wouldn't put your mouth up the exhaust of your car and suck on the CO2 would you? No, not unless you wanted to die, so maybe it might not be hurting the planet but it is hurting our people. The Earth could (in your mind) equalize itself but if you are for the future Americans having health problems, than you obviously only care for yourself.

A study is being done on the Great Lakes to see if they may have self healing powers. So far the Study suggests the lakes can indeed heal thyself as long as man works with it.

My guess is that the oceans, which are the largest dumping grounds in the world for whatever any kook nation or liberal whats to dump in them also has the same healing powers.

Lake Erie was pretty much given up as a lost cause 30 to 40 years ago. Now look at it.

How much money has Al Gore made off the Global Warming scam? Follow the money and you might see who is benefiting from the hoax.

Who benefits?

To start with, Al Gore because we will have to read his book to figure out how to save the world. yeah right

Pollutants are a problem in our atmosphere because they cause diseases. New forms of cancer appear almost daily. Our bodies can't fight the pollutants in our atmosphere, water and food any more.

Now if only the governments around the world would start cracking down on the chemicals all of these factories are pumping into our air and streams, our world can breath a little easier and the medical industry will have less cancer patients and the insurance companies can reduce their costs. Gee, why doesn't the government want to save money and lives?

Now take a quick look at who is sponsoring your candidate and then ask that candidate what his sponsor is doing to prevent pollution.
http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/index.asp

Doesn't it make sense that the factories don't want to stop the pollution because it will cost them money that they don't want to take out of their stock holders' pockets? It is all about money and who profits the most.

Start buying organic - better for you, the animals and the environment.

Even NASA's cable channel aired a program about global warming last night. It's no hoax. Calling it a hoax is part of the War of Confusion being conducted against the public by globalists.

The goal of this war is to maintain the public as a consumer-- fat, not trusting their own judgment, and distracted. Deception of the public is easier when you're confused--whether they're trying to sell you a gasoline guzzling automobile that should be converted to an alternative fuel or unsafe products from communist, polluting China that should be banned.

Join the fight and the Backlash against Globalism before it's too late.

Big business. It's not a hoax, but they are trying to get the "little people" to conserve and pay carbon and other taxes so that they can continue to pollute and use our limited natural resources all for themselves. The less we use, the more they have--and the more money they can make. Industry should definitely be penalized for waste and pollution--that will clean up their act and make everyone a lot healthier. Record numbers of cancers, neurological problems, and increased respiratory problems don't come out of nowhere!

I think its all designed to melt the polar ice cap and provide a rapid transit of goods from say Japan to Europe. How much faster is it to go that way vs. thru the Panama canal?
Oh well thats a thought I had while watching a show about reengineering the Panama Canal to accomodate the dramatic increase in ship size.

politicians know that liberals are always looking for a cause, a reason to fight, a reason to blame, a reason to protest the powers that be. they use issues like this to stir the crap and make a stink, and it never hurts to make a little money in the process buy selling a book, making a movie or inventing carbon bucks (credits) or whatever. why would it make it OK to pollute if you pay someone to let you? is it a nice fine or is it a bribe? I don't understand.

Sulfur Dioxide is NOT carbon Dioxide and has a different effect ! Sulfur Dioxide doesn't contribute to the Greenhouse effect as Carbon Dioxide does. It lets the rays of the sun in, but not all back out!

Sulfur Dioxide cause smog, acid rain and some lung diseases!

You believe what you want, but it is a FACT that the polar icecaps are melting! Don't come running to us when Florida is under water!

What a piece of trash, "if you can't see it"!! he sounds like a person with an IQ of 60, not a scientist! DUH!!! That is so sad! If you can't do better than that, give up!

People who after failing to amount to anything in the corporate/business world and also lacking any success in attaining political office have decide that scare tactics might get them the thing that they desire the most....

They so desperately want to be in a position of power so that they can instruct other people on how to live their lives.

They have already failed to direct the course of their life to their own satisfaction....so now they want to try it with your life instead.

Give them a chance....vote for a socialist.
