Yes, you msut call them animal companion. Pets implies ownership, and that's not right, is it?

Right now we have a cat. Not much of a companion but I appreciate your company and comfort she gives me.
I am more of a dog person because there are a lot of companion type things you can do with a dog that you can't do with a cat. But we live in an apartment and not allowed to have a dog. Plus dogs really are more trouble to take care of. Which I don't mind, but the walking is a problem because we live in the desert. I can't stand the heat so taking a dog out for a walk is out of the questions. I love basset hounds. We had one when we lived in Michigan.

I grew up with a dog around the house. When I moved south, I eventually got a cat. I love my cat like she was a child of mine. So I'd have to say my favorite animal is my cat Lightning.

I have a cat who's name is Hank. Hank is a female . I don't know why I chose that name ,but at the time, it was a ... Oh I don't know. Anyway I'm single and hank is very shy with other people.She is so attached to me. When i leave for work in the morning,she has to go out the door with me and she'll just lay down on the sidewalk and watch me go. In the afternoon,when I get home,she knows the sound of my car and jumps out the window and greets me.When I go to the dumpster to put the garbage out, ol' Hank follows me.
sorry, I'm rambling. Hank is a good companion. She tends to be jealous of my girl,but she's getting used to her

i love all animals, ive had cats and dogs, i love them both, but as a companion, id pick a dog, they are more responsive, dont judge yoy, are very loyal, and will sick right by u no matter what.. and when you talk to them,,, they listen, and i truly believe they understand what your saying and how your feeling.they know when you are sad, and they show it.

One wonderful dog. If I didn't live in a townhouse, I'd have more dogs and maybe a cat.
