Do you think that banks or credit unions are better? I had much better service at my credit union, and I'm missing it.

Well, banks charge you more fees, it's a business to make them more money. I prefer credit unions, they have much lower rates, and much better service.

I would go back to a credit union!!

What type of services you expect will make a big difference. Credit Unions almost always have much higher interest rates on savings accounts and lower interest on loans, but some are limited on other services. I would join a credit union first then have a checking account with a local band. Use the credit union for savings and the bank checking for paying bills.

The difference's between banks and credit unions has narrowed over the bast 30 years.

Consider them one entity. Shop for the best rates and services irregardless of their charter.

Today the best savings and interest bearing checking accounts are with the "on-line" banks;

www.HSBCDirect.com
www.INGDirect.com

Good luck!
