Hi there,
Yes, actually, it is completely normal. I will tell you as well, large uteral clots, like the ones you are seeing, are a sign of a healthy uterus.
What your menstrual cycle does, is it cleanses the reproductive system by breaking down the linig of the uterus. Large clots, or extra dark blood means that your body is ridding itself of the uteral lining- the bigger the clump, the more the uterus that is slouging off. This is an excellent first sign that your reproductive system is healthy and it is working exactly as it should.
Hope this help! :-)

YUP! ur period can either b really red or a lighter brown. Normally those chucks are a bigger image of the cervical lining, that ofcourse, is supposed to be released during ur period. Anyway, if theres any doubt in ur mind, ask a doc.

What you are seeing is normal, however it's not blood. It's uterine tissue. During our periods, we lose 2 tablespoons of blood only.

Yes, I myself have some during the 3th or 4th day...it's just normal. If it hurts, try aspirin or Alindor.
