Yes...and it's painful to do. Best do it VERY gently. Being asked out is a priviledge but that doesn't mean you have to waste your time with them if you aren't attracted to them. but try not to hurt their feelings. Usually, telling them you already have a boyfreind or girlfriend, but thanks anyway works pretty good. :)

Yes. Its embarassing. Especially when you dont know the person well. You shouldnt ask someone else until you receive signals that they are available and interested.

yes. he gave me a note in the hallway that said "will you go out with me?" but i wrote him a note back that said i liked someone else but i'd still like to be friends with him. i didn't feel too bad, but then at the school dance he WOULDN'T stop bugging me to dance with him, and i turned him down every time and felt really bad about it, but they have to learn that NO MEANS NO!
