The US is to trying to buy them off. But seeing how you're right, you don't question the brilliant backwards logic of stupid people.
You just let them do what they want to do, and watch as the mess gets deeper. :0)

It's called greed, which is human nature. Get the $$ today and worry about the it later when the s$it hits the fan. Why weren't the levees in New Orleans ever fixed before Katrina? Same logic, the government knew the possibilities of the pending disaster but rather than be pro-active our leaders are re-active and keep their heads buried in the sand until it's to late and they have to spend many times more to fix the problem afterwords.

Buy them off.
It's all a messy brand of politics. I don't think there's even a right or wrong anymore, it's just who can make the most money. In this corner, the U.S., USD, and Saudi Arabia... In the other corner, E.U., Euro, and Iran.
Except Iran also said they want to blow Israel off the map. Which Saudi Arabia wants to do also, but they just won't say it, and plus, they have $$$ to make.

Its called oil sir, we need it and they have it.
So we sell them weapons in return.
My only hope is that we will wise up soon and put a weapon embargo on the Middle East and those weapons we sold will fall apart with out spare parts and maintenance.
