It's probably just a badly designed toilet, probably a cheap one with a small throat. It may be that the water does not run from the tank to the bowl fast enough, also because of bad design. To test whether it is a bad design, fill a pail with a gallon of water and pour it straight into the bowl as fast as you can. If the toilet "flushes" and empties the bowl then the problem is just that the bowl is a bad design. You need to replace it. Get one with the largest throat you can and your problem will be eliminated. This all happens when people get cheap toilets, failing to realize this is one instance where cheap is not better.

If the toilet does not flush when you pour in the bucket of water then this indicates a clog in the sewer lines and you should get a plumber to snake out the line.

In more than one instance I have seen toilets that when flushed the water just went lazily around and around and around and around and around, eventually slowing down and stopping altogether. A new better quality toilet solved the problem beautifully.

Avoid a $99 builders special when shopping for a new toilet. Expect to pay at least $200 to $250 for a good toilet.

Mine does the same thing, so if you find out could you let me know. I think the holes under the rim of my toilet bowl are partially clogged from too many years of use. Every once in awhile I get brave and use a piece of wire to try and unclog them, but it's a disgusting job!
Good luck! Seriously if you find a better way, besides buying a new toilet, let me know! I'm in Canada and I didn't know we had special toilets!!! lol

We have the same problem, about once a month I get a few gallons of bleach and I dump a bottle down each of the drains.. I let it sit overnight.. It clears out any "blockage" and it freshens the bowls/drain... Just remember to flush before you use it the next morning Bleach+Urine(Ammonia)=Fumes... good luck....

A strong possibility is that there is stick. comb, toothbrush etc. stuck in it. You can clear it temporarily but it will plug up again unless you successfully remove the partial blockage. Unfortunately the toilet will likely need to be removed to do this. I have described the procedure in past answers.

Replace it, preferably with one quietly imported from Canada. Toilets made since the Congress passed the water-saving law generally don't work as well as the older ones.

As sad as this may sound, it's true. You need more roughage in your food. Your stools are too hard causing them to get stuck and plugging the toilet. This is no joke.

depends on where the clog is. If you have a septic tank , it may be full, or if your on the Village sewage, it may be blocked out side your home. You might need to call roto Router, there could be roots in our pipes .

Eat more fiber...

If that doesn't work, get some muratic acid from Home Depot.
